Eileen was born August 11, 1938 in Cortez, Colorado to Charley Marsell and Carrie (Chandler) Marsell.
On October 6, 1955 she married Jackie Ray Hemby in Farmington, N.M. She was a longtime Artesia resident after moving here in December of 1955. She later married Pete Vann on January 13, 1990. He preceded her in death in September of 2000. She was also preceded in death by her parents; 4 brothers; and a sister.
Eileen was a devoted mother, grandma, great-grandmother, and friend to many. She founded Eileen's Tacole and operated that before selling the business after 20 years. Before that she had worked at the old A&W for Mary and Cecil Hill for many years. Eileen was of the Baptist Faith and enjoyed in her free time to travel, dance, work in the yard and loved spending time with her family.
We are so lucky and proud to have had this beautiful lady as our mother. She was never selfish, always thinking of us kids, working hard to provide for all of our needs as we were growing up. She taught us all to be hard workers and independent. Our MOM was the strongest woman we will ever know. She will be dancing with the Angels and greatly missed by all.
Survivors include her loving daughters Shelly Webb and husband James (Bubbles) of Artesia, Sonya Venturella of Artesia, Rhonda Kosloskie of Hagerman, N.M., and Becky Hammond and husband Mike of Dunlevy, PA; grandchildren Christina McDonald, Vanissa Anderson, Celeste Eastwood, Jenny Connors, Luke Connors, Brooke and Mikayla Hammond, Michael Kosloskie and Jamie Warf; great-grandchildren Brady McDonald, Sysylya Harris, and Lilly and Willyum Anderson.
