Edward Joseph Perry, III, Ed to his friends, Beau to his family, passed away peacefully at home in Dallas, Texas, on Wednesday, April 7, 2010, in the company of his beloved daughter, Laura Perry, and his sisters, Joy, Barbara, and Elizabeth. Ed was fiftynine years old.
Ed was born in Houston, Texas, on October 15, 1950. He was the third of nine children
Born to Edward Joseph Joe Perry, Jr., of Houston and Frances Kilburn Perry of London, England. His siblings included Joy, Barbara, Michael deceased, Christopher deceased, Elizabeth, Charlotte, Patrick deceased, and Timothy.
Because his father was in the Air Force, the family lived in places as diverse as New York, Mississippi, Arizona, England, as well as his home state of Texas.
Ed graduated from W.B.Ray high school in Corpus Christi, Texas, where he enjoyed surfing on the beaches of Padre Island. After high school, Ed joined the Air Force and was stationed in Okinawa for his tour of duty. Ed settled in Artesia, New Mexico in 1979, where he lived until the year before his death.
Ed loved to travel, especially with his daughter. He took many cruises and trips but most of all, he loved the desert of New Mexico, which he enjoyed showing everyone who visited Artesia.
Ed is survived by his loving daughter Laura to whom he was devoted. He is also survived by his siblings, Lauras mother Susan Terry and his many good friends.
Memorial services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 10, at Terpening and Son Mortuary, 611 W. Grand Ave, Artesia followed by a Celebration of Eds Life.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Compassionate Hands Hospice, 6500 N. Beltline Road, Ste 180, Irving TX 75063.
