Edward Patterson

Services are scheduled at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, January 26, at West Main Baptist Church for Edward E. Patterson, 1502 N. 26th St., Artesia, New Mexico.

Mr. Patterson, 72, died Thursday, January 21, 2010 at Artesia General Hospital.

Jason Kraft will officiate at the services with burial at Twin Oaks Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Gary Anderson, Bill McGeachy, Ken Livingston, Robert Duncan, Doug Simer and Steve Clark.

Honorary pallbearers will be Frank Loop, Jimmy Lyles, Gene Coor, Lester Wright, Catarina Gonzales, Wayne Bedingfield, Carl Barnes, Frank Porter and all Senior Golf Buddies. Honorary pallbearers In Memoriam Bill Horner, Frank Yates, Sr., Bill Hull, Alton Bratcher and Frank Devine.


Visitation at Terpening Son Mortuary will begin at 10:00 a.m. Monday.

Ed was born February 10, 1937 in Tucumcari, New Mexico the son of William Elmore Patterson and Lela Ethel Haralson Patterson.

On Oct. 17, 1975 he was married to Martha Warren in Artesia. He was a longtime resident of Artesia.

He served in the United States Air Force and was the owner and operator of Patterson Welding Works. He was a member of Eastern New Mexico Senior Golf Association, Artesia Country Club, Alto Lakes Country Club and the Artesia Senior Golf Association.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Ray Gwynne, and a daughter Christy Patterson.

Survivors include his wife Martha Patterson of the family home sons Gary Gwynne and wife Barbara of Artesia, Rusty Gwynne and wife Nita of Artesia, and Tony Bartley of Florida daughter Kerry Callow and husband Kirk of Alaska daughterinlaw Maxine Davis of Artesia brother Tracy Patterson and wife Lou Ann of Artesia sister Gaye dEntremont of Artesia 9 grandchildren and 12 greatgrandchildren.
