Edward John Gidak,77, of Artesia, passed away October 28, 2020 at home.
Edward was born October 2, 1943, the son of Edward John Gidak, Sr. and Margret (Pauletich) Gidak in DeQuoin, Illinois.
The family moved from Illinois to Carlsbad when Edward was a young boy. Edward attended school in Carlsbad and graduated in 1961.
Edward worked at the Western Ag. Potash Mine until it closed, then drove a truck until 2007. He worked at Loco Hills Storage unit until August 2020.
Edward enjoyed camping with his grandchildren and going to the mountains every time he could.
Survivors are his wife Elizabeth Ann Gidak, grandchildren Madison Simer, Vance Simer of Calsbad, Gage (Lucero) Simer of Bastrop, Tx. Great-grandchildren Will, Jamie, Lukas and Liam. Brother-in-law Doug (Sheila) Simer, Mike (Nancy) Simer of Artesia and Gene (Kay) Simer of Carlsbad, sitster-in-law Sue Dean of Georgetown, Tx. Sister Jane Acosta of Carlsbad and son Gary Gidak.
He was proceded in death by parents, sons James and Chad and greatgrandson Riott James Somer.
