Services are scheduled at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, August 13, at Terpening Son Chapel for Edna Louise Warren, Artesia, New Mexico. Mrs. Warren, 82, died Wednesday, August 10, 2005 at Artesia General Hospital in Artesia, New Mexico. Pastor Bobby Argo will officiate at the services with burial at Twin Oaks Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Steve Shaw, Rodney Shaw, Jim Jorren, Gary Gwynne, Harold Powell, and Harry Shaw. Honorary pallbearers will be Rusty Gwynne, Elwyn Peterson and Doug McQuay. Visitation will be at Terpening Son Mortuary beginning at 10:00 A.M. Friday. Mrs. Warren was born May 7, 1923 in Helena, Arkansas; the daughter of Silas Corley and Martha Lucille Thomas Corley. On June 24, 1939 she was married to Ernest Eldo Warren in Marvel, Arkansas. She came to Artesia in 1953 from West Helena, Arkansas. Her husband preceded her in death Jan. 8, 1982. She worked as a bookkeeper, was a member of the First Baptist Church, and a former member of Eastern Star. She was also preceded in death by her parents, step-fathers Harry Ramsey and Herbert Simms, a son Ernest E. Warren, Jr., grandsons Ray Gwynne and Duane Shaw, grand-daughter Christy Patterson, and sons-in-law Tom Edwards, Gary Gwynne, and Harry Jorren. Survivors include her daughters Carolyn Edwards of Longview, Texas, Marilyn Shaw and husband Harry of Ruidoso, N.M., Martha Patterson and husband Ed of Artesia, and Nancy Jorren of Artesia; brother Donald Corley of Arkadelphia, Arkansas; sister Thelma Hatcher of Dover, Arkansas; eleven grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and 21 great-great-grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to the Artesia Good Samaritan Care Center, 1402 W. Gilchrist Ave., Artesia, N.M. 88210.
