Services are scheduled at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, January 7, at Terpening Son Chapel for Edna Earl Phillips, Artesia, New Mexico. Mrs. Phillips, 78, died Wednesday, January 4, 2006 at Artesia General Hospital. Rev. Joseph Tillery will officiate at the services with burial at Twin Oaks Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Jack Butler, Raul Velasquez, Rick Harrel, Ronnie Johnston, Paul Hudson, and Dwight Adamson. Visitation will be at Terpening Son Mortuary beginning at 10:00 a.m. Friday. Mrs. Phillips was born June 21, 1927 in Tulus, Louisiana; the daughter of Howard E. Wagstaff and Ruby Davis Wagstaff. On July 19, 1947 she was married to J.B. Phillips in Selman City, Texas. She came to Artesia in March 31, 1952 from Selman City. She was a Bookkeeper and member of First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son Billy Jack Phillips, a brother Prentis Wagstaff, and a sister Frankie Beth Kern. Survivors include her husband J.B. Phillips of the family home; daughter Tammy Huckabee and husband Kevin of El Paso, Texas; grandchildren Lori Ridgway and husband Mathew of Carlsbad, N.M., Michael Phillips of Carlsbad, Breanne Huckabee of El Paso, Shohn Huckabee of El Paso, and Alyssa Huckabee of El Paso; and great- grandchildren Taylor Hernandez of Kentucky, Colton Ridgway of Carlsbad, Shelby Ridgway of Carlsbad, Garret Ridgway of Carlsbad, and Hunter Phillips of Carlsbad.
