Eddie LaRue

A memorial service is scheduled for 10 am Wednesday, September 25, at Faith Baptist Church for Eddie C. LaRue of Artesia, New Mexico.

Mr. LaRue, 70, died on September 23, 2024 at his home in Artesia.

Pastor Michael Elliot will officiate at the services. Cremation will take place under the direction of Terpening & Son Mortuary.

Eddie was born on April 5, 1954 in Lamesa, Texas; the son of Charles Edward LaRue and Wanda Nell Massingale LaRue. He graduated from Artesia High School in 1972. He married Rebecca Lee Parker on August 16, 1973. He went to work for his daddy in the oil field in 1977 where he remained in the family business until it changed to Silver Oak Drilling. He retired from there in 2018.

Eddie loved his family, friends, and church dearly. His granddaughters were the light of his life.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 8 angel grandbabies, and sister-in-law Vikki Acosta.

Survivors include his wife Becky LaRue; a daughter Jennifer Walker; a son Chad LaRue and wife Shannon; 2 grandchildren Harlee Walker and Preslee Walker, sisters Charlotte Brewer and husband Mick, Cindy Johnson, Rhonda Mojica, Melissa LaRue-Acosta, Trisha McKee and husband Rusty, and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Eddie's friends at J&J Homecare for their countless laughs and compassion. We would also like to thank Interim Hospice, caregivers Linda and Norma, and Abby Grado for their tender care of our husband, daddy, and granddaddy.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the ALS Foundation or to the Children's Ministry at Faith Baptist Church Artesia.
