Services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, January 12, at Terpening amp; Son Mortuary for Earl E. Zeigler, Artesia, New Mexico. PMr. Zeigler, 96, died Monday, January 10, 2005, at his home. PRev. Rick Sullivan will officiate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ralph Nix, Joe Kelly, George Young, Floyd Hancock, Rudy Sifuentes, and Peyton Yates. Honorary pallbearers will be Gene Sandlin and Garret Hancock. PMr. Zeigler was born April 18, 1908 in Smithfield, West Virginia; the son of Benjamin Franklin Zeigler and Minnie Maude Hoff Zeigler. POn October 8, 1932 he was married to Gladys L. Duren in Fort Worth, Texas. They came to Artesia from Texas in 1938. PHe was a salesman for George Young and was district manager for Iverson amp; Bovaird Supply. He was a member of First Baptist Church, past President of the Lions Club, a member of the Masonic Lodge, Ballut Abyad Shriners, and the Scottish Rite in Santa Fe. PMr. Zeigler was preceded in death by his parents; and by one brother. PSurvivors include his wife Gladys L. Zeigler of the family home; a daughter Carol Cunningham and husband Carlos of Roswell, N.M.; a granddaughter Carlyn Hancock and husband Floyd of Portales, N.M.; great-grandchildren Garret and Taylor; and a sister Helen Keen of Fort Worth, Texas.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Vista Care Hospice Foundation, 611 N. Canal, Carlsbad, NM 88220.
