Earl Harrison

Services are scheduled at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, September 18, at Hermosa Drive Baptist Church, for Earl Vincent Harrison, 3509 S. Haldeman Rd., Artesia, New Mexico. Mr. Harrison, 83, died Friday, September 12, 2003 in Anchorage, Alaska. Rev. Gavin Vaughan will officiate at the services with burial at Memory Lawn Memorial Park, Roswell, New Mexico. Pallbearers will be Steve A. Harrison, Derrick Baer, T. J. Harrison, Christopher Harrison, John Harrison and Noble Laminack. Honorary pallbearers will be Stanley Waldrip, Quentin Rogers, Warren Hanson, Travis Allen, John Dowell and Bill Netherlin. Mr. Harrison was born November 10, 1919 in Rush Springs, Oklahoma; the son of J.J. Harrison and Florence Curtis Harrison. On Oct. 1,1943 he was married to Barbara Waldrip in Roswell. He came to Artesia in 1963 from Hagerman, NM. She preceded him in death Sept. 12, 1974. He was a farmer and member of Hermosa Drive Baptist Church, and Artesia Alfalfa Growers Association. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Doyle Harrison, Fred Harrison and Bob Harrison. Survivors include sons Bobbie Harrison of Artesia, Larry Steven Harrison of San Angelo, Texas Jerry J. Harrison of Artesia, and Wendell Lee Harrison of Anchorage; daughter Dee Ann Baer of Artesia; brothers Leonard Harrison of Roswell, A.J. Harrison of Roswell, and Franklin D. Harrison of Poreum, Okla.; 4 sisters Alma Allen of Roswell, Irene Beeman of Roswell, Bernice Mathews of Roswell, and Betty Markham of Hobbs, NM; 12 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren. Memorial Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
