Dorothy Weaver

Services are scheduled at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 7, at First United Methodist Church for Dorothy Jean Weaver of Artesia, New Mexico.

Mrs. Weaver, 88, died Monday, February 4, 2013 at Artesia General Hospital.

Rev. Monty Leavell will officiate at the services with burial at Twin Oaks Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be her grandchildren.

Dorothy was born January 4, 1925 in California the daughter of Otto Hagen and Minnie Thayer Hagen. She came to Artesia in June 1963 from Kermit, Texas.

On March 17, 1945 she was married to Donald L. Weaver in Bellville, Illinois. They came to Arteisa in June of 1963 from Kermit, Texas. He preceded her in death July 16, 1998. She was also preceded in death by her parents son David Weaver and sister Jeannine Schweigert.

Dot was a bookkeeper and a member of First United Methodist Church. She was also an avid bridge player.

Survivors include her daughters Diane Smith and husband James of Artesia, and Dona Laman and husband Dale of Artesia grandchildren James Smith, Jr., Barbara Ochoa, Cathy Smith, Scott Neel, Jarad Neel, and Tanner Laman greatgrandchildren Sabrina Ochoa, Davian Ochoa, and Sienna Ochoa.
