Dorothy Stogner

Graveside services are scheduled at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, July 5, at Woodbine Cemetery for Dorothy Marie Stogner, Artesia, New Mexico.

Mrs. Stogner, 95, died Monday, July 2, 2012 at her home.

Rev. Monty Leavell will officiate at the services. Honorary pallbearers will be James Wallace, Bill Johnson, James Baker, John Guthrie, John Simons and Eddie Guy.

Dorothy was born January 25, 1917 in Muenster, Texas the daughter of O. J. Savoie and Mary Lou Elzy Savoie. She was a longtime resident of Artesia.

On May 4, 1939 she was married to Charles Lee Stogner in Carlsbad, N.M. He preceded her in death Feb. 6, 1988.

She was a housewife was secretary for Stogner Construction from 1962 to 1976. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Altrusa Club, Business and Professional Business Club, Artesia Chamber of Commerce, and the Garden Club.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Lawrence Savoie, O.B. Bud Savoie and John Savoie.

Survivors include daughter Pat Walker and husband Charles of Denver City, Texas and grandson Jerry Wyckoff of Huntsville, Texas.
