Dorothy Lee

Services are scheduled at 10:00 A.M. Monday, July 1 at Terpening Son Mortuary in Artesia, N.M. for former Artesia resident Dorothy Lee of Hartville, Missouri. Mrs. Lee, 80, died Thursday, June 27, 2002 at Eastern New Mexico Medical Center in Roswell, N.M. Rev. Rick Sullivan, pastor of First Baptist Church, will officiate at the services with burial at Twin Oaks Memorial Park in Artesia. Pallbearers will be grandsons Tommy Lee, Steve Funston, Shane Lee, Kyle Kimple, Willie Wolf, Zachary Fletcher, Tyson Fletcher, Colton Lee and Jack Riley Copeland. Mrs. Lee was born September 9, 1921 in Sweetwater, Texas; the daughter of Willie Otto Hart and Bessie Neeper Hart. On July 1, 1940 she was married to Curtis Ray Lee in Roswell. She came to Artesia in 1945 and moved to Missouri in 1980. She owned and operated Lees Grocery and was a member of Rock Chapel Baptist Church in Norwood, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her parents; and by three brothers; and one sister. Survivors include her husband Curtis Ray Lee of the family home; sons Jerry D. Lee and Tom Lee both of Hartville; a daughter Diann Funston of Las Vegas, Nevada; brothers Duane Hart of Lubbock, Texas and Glenn Hart of Brownfield, Texas; sisters Billie Osgood of Beaverton, Oregon and Sissie Allen of Coolidge, Texas; nine grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren.
