In the early morning hours of March 18, 2016, Doris Faye Jackson passed away peacefully in her sleep. She was 67 years old.
Doris was born in Fort Worth, Tx on August 16,1948 to James Henry and Mary Ellen Camp. They later moved to New Mexico. She was a 1966 graduate of Lovington High School. She attended a business school in Lubbock, Tx, but returned to NM where she was a longtime resident of Loco Hills and Artesia. She owned Pampered Threads in Artesia from 2001 to 2011. She spent the last few years in La Vernia, Tx. She was an avid Cowboys fan and was loved by many, who knew her as Dodo.
She is survived by her son Chad Jackson and wife, Angie of La Vernia, TX; daughter Jennifer Tabor and husband Donny of Artesia, NM; son Keith Jackson and wife Misti of Artesia, NM; grandchildren Carter Jackson, Ryleigh Jackson, Devny Olivas, Logan Tabor, Hunter Gregory, Trapper Gregory, Cody Tabor, Sharayah Parra, Caitlin Jackson and Kyle Jackson; 3 great grandchildren; sisters Sandra Speir of Albuquerque, NN and Carolyn Heavington and husband Royce of Lovington; and several nieces and nephews. She is proceeded in death by her parents James and Mary Camp; sisters Lou Ellen Camp and Pat Cottrell.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 2, at Terpening and Son Mortuary, Artesia, N.M.
