Dora Almanza

Services are scheduled at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 5, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church for Dora Sanchez Almanza of Artesia, New Mexico.

Mrs. Almanza, 87, died Saturday, June 1, 2013 at Mission Arch Care Center in Roswell, New Mexico.

Fr. Paul Murtagh SS.CC. will officiate at the services with burial at Twin Oaks Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Jordan Reza, Jonah Reza, Adrian Ornelas, Nehemiah Almanza, Xavier Almanza, and Nathaniel Almanza.

A rosary will be at Our Lady of Grace at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Dora was born September 12, 1925 in Hondo, New Mexico the daughter of Frank Sanchez and Carolina Miranda Sanchez. She was a longtime Artesia resident.

Dora worked as a cook at La Fonda Restaurant. She was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church and enjoyed gardening.

She was preceded in death by her parents three sisters two brothers and grandchildren Paul Anthony Almanza and Alex Almanza.

Survivors include her sons Paul Sanchez Almanza and wife Anita of Artesia, Jim Ray Sanchez Almanza and wife Yvette of Roswell, and John Almanza of San Diego, California brother Ruben Sanchez of Tucson, Arizona, and Bonifacio Sanchez of Las Vegas, Nevada grandchildren Rodney Almanza and wife Valerie, Mark Almanza and wife Alejandra, and Monica Almanza, J.A. Almanza, Larry Cruz Salas Almanza, and Sueshelly Matthews greatgrandchildren Xavier, Nathaniel, Christina, Nehemiah, and Nicholas Jeramiah Almanza, and Jordan and Jonah Reza.
