Donald Wotring

Services are scheduled at 10:00 A.M. Friday, May 2, at First United Methodist Church for Donald Ray Wotring, Artesia, New Mexico. Mr. Wotring, 78, died Friday, April 25, 2003 in Scottsdale, Arizona. Rev. Paul Dean Duerksen will officiate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery. Mr. Worting was born September 7, 1924 in Morgantown, West Virginia; the son of Daniel Jefferson Wotring and Becky Mundell Wotring. He served in the United States Navy during World War II. On January 7, 1949 he was married to Mary Alberta Sarver in Ashland, Kentucky. They came to Artesia in 1967 from Eunice, N.M. She preceded him in death January 24, 1978. He was also preceded in death by a son Donald Worting, Jr. in 1996. He was a retired foreman for Atlantic Richfield Oil Company and an active member of First United Methodist Church. Survivors include a son Jeff Wotring and wife Cindy of Allen, Texas; daughters Mary Ann Johnson and husband Bill of Globe, Ariz. and Cathy Perkins and husband Gary of Glendale, Ariz.;his mother-in-law Viola Sarver of Marietta, Ohio; sisters Mary Shafer, Eleanor Wotring, and Barbara Warsinsky all of West Virgnia; grandchildren Jeremiah, Jason and Jordan Johnson of Arizona, Lindsey and Kelli Perkins of Arizona, and Sadie and Justin Worting of Texas, and Devin Wotring of Oklahoma; and great-grandchildren Gavin and Jada Johnson of Arizona. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society - 1404 N. Kentucky - Roswell, NM 88201.
