Donald Harcrow

Memorial graveside services are scheduled at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 28, at Twin Oaks Memorial Park for Donald Lee Harcrow of Artesia, New Mexico.

Mr. Harcrow, 80, died Saturday, July 23, 2011 at Heartland Nursing Center in Artesia.

Rev. Michael Elliot will officiate at the services. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Terpening Son Mortuary.

Honorary pallbearers will be Bob Waugh, Frank Spindler including the Water Coop, and the employees at Navajo Refinery.

Donald was born July 26, 1930 in Roswell, New Mexico the son of Alvin Harcrow and Mary Lafferty Harcrow.

He served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean War.

On August 9, 1954 he was married to Della Mae Jones in Capitan, N.M. He came to Artesia in 1957 from Capitan.

Donald was a Foreman at the Navajo Refinery Wharehouse. He worked there for 36 years and retired in 1993. He was also a member of the Moose Lodge, and the Artesia Rural Coop.

He was preceded in death by his parents son Kenneth L. Harcrow and brothers Earl and Bob Harcrow.

Survivors include his wife Della Hubby Harcrow of the family home son Donald R. Harcrow and wife Karen of Logan, N.M. daughter Mary D. Harcrow of Artesia sister Aliene Cooper of Roswell, N.M. grandchildren Don Harcrow, Chad Harcrow, Amanda Harcrow, Andy Smith, Angie HarcrowSolis, Chelsea Frederick, Michelle Smith, Rochelle McIntire, and Candace Greathouse and 13 greatgrandchildren.
