Don Laird

Graveside services are scheduled at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, Sep. 18, at Woodbine Cemetery for Donald George Laird, Artesia, New Mexico.

Mr. Laird, 86, died Friday, September 13, 2013 in Roswell, New Mexico.

Pastor Bobby Argo will officiate at the services.

Visitation will be at Terpening Son Mortuary beginning at 10 a.m. Tuesday.

Don was born December 7, 1926 in Breckenridge, Texas the son of Clarence Wallace Laird and Esther Pauline Cox Laird. He was a longtime resident of Artesia.

On Oct. 4, 1947 he was married to Dorothy Harris in New Orleans, Louisiana.

He served in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II.

He was a superintendent for Phillips Petroleum and a member of Trinity Temple Assembly of God, and the Gideons.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Don Laird, daughterinlaw Paula Laird, and a sister Virginia Smith.

Survivors include his wife Dorothy Laird of Artesia brothers Kenneth Laird of Odessa, Texas, and Bill Laird of Hurst, Texas granddaughters Tanya Laird, and Tamra Laird Ray and husband Matthew greatgrandchildren Dylon Ray, Ethan Ray and Brittany Laird longtime friend Lloyd Jackson of Carlsbad, N.M.
