Dolores Sanchez

Services are scheduled at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 7, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church for Dolores R. Sanchez of Artesia, New Mexico. PMr. Sanchez, 73, died Saturday, March 3, 2007 at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas. PFr. Paul Murtagh SS. CC will officiate at the services with burial at Twin Oaks Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be his grandsons; Eric Chavez, Joshua Sanchez, Dominic Sanchez, Isaac Sanchez, Jaime Lopez, and Isaiah Jordan. The Honorary pallbearers will be the remaining grandsons and great-grandsons. PVisitation will be at Terpening amp; Son Mortuary Tuesday beginning at 11:00 a.m. A prayer service will be at Our Lady of Grace Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. PMr. Sanchez was born September 16, 1933 in Terlingua, Texas; the son of Vincente Sanchez and Manuela Ramirez Sanchez. PHe served in the United States Army. POn December 1, 1956 he was married to Delia Perez in Artesia. He came to Artesia in 1946 from Texas. He worked as a pumper for Arco Gas Company and was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Cursillistas, Holy Name Society, and a Eucharistic Minister. PHe was preceded in death by his parents; brother Salvador O. Sanchez; and son Frankie P. Sanchez.
Survivors include his wife Delia Sanchez of the family home; daughters Alice Sanchez Chavez of Artesia, Rosa Sanchez and husband Oscar of Artesia, Cindy Sanchez of Artesia, Helen Jordan and husband Mark of Artesia, Susan Lopez and husband Jaime of Artesia, Diana Sanchez and husband Pete of Artesia, and Angelica Beltran and husband Rudy of Artesia; sons Thomas Sanchez of Artesia, Salvador Sanchez and wife Christine of Toledo, Ohio, and Andres Sanchez and fiancee Camille of Roswell, N.M.; sisters Basilisa Calderon of Albuquerque, N.M., Flora Lopez of Albuquerque, Peggy Aguirre and husband Guillermo of Alamogordo, N.M., and Maria Maestas and husband Leo of Montana; brothers Angelino Lino Sanchez and wife Mary of Artesia, and Ruben Sanchez and wife Virginia of Artesia; 24 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
