Closed casket services are scheduled at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 15, at First United Methodist Church in Jal, N.M. for forty year Jal resident Dollie Lueders Null of Carlsbad, New Mexico. Mrs. Null, 78, died Wednesday, May 12, 2004 in Carlsbad, New Mexico. Rev. Gary Eggart will officiate at the services with burial at the Jal Cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandsons John Ross Null, Wesley Null, Corey Asbill, Jason Null, Scott Takacs, and Jason Arsenault. The family will be receiving friends at Terpening Son Mortuary in Artesia, N.M. from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Friday. Visitation will begin 11 a.m. Friday at the mortuary and at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church in Jal. Mrs. Null was born July 29, 1925 in Muldoon, Texas; the daughter of Benno Lueders and Ovie Parker Lueders. On March 14, 1946 she was married to John Conrad Null in Halletsville, Texas. They moved to Jal in December of 1959 from La Grange, Texas. Her husband preceded her in death March 27, 1996. She moved to Carlsbad in August 2000. She was also preceded in death by brothers Alvin Lueders and Alton Lueders who died while serving in the military during World War II. She was a housewife and longtime member of the United Methodist Church; and United Methodist Women. She was a member of Woodmen of the World; and was a Pink Lady hospital volunteer. Dollie Granny will be remembered by family and friends for her thoughtful, kind, and loving spirit. Survivors include sons Ronnie Null and wife Jeannine of Artesia, N.M. and Perry Null and wife Sandra of Gallup, N.M.; a daughter Kate Null Asbill and husband Vernon of Carlsbad; brothers Bennie Lueders and wife Mary of Smithville, Texas, Parker Lueders and wife Dorothy of Smithville, Texas, and Bobby Lueders and wife Maureen of Muldoon, Texas; a sister Doris Forsythe and husband Gene of Muldoon; six grandchildren John Ross Null and wife Netta of Artesia, Christy Asbill Takacs and husband Scott of Artesia, James Wesley Null and wife Dana of Hewitt, Texas, Corey David Asbill of Las Cruces, N.M., Daisy Null Arsenault and husband Jason of Gallup, and Jason Parker Null and wife Lauren of Dallas, Texas; and six great-grandchildren Addison Takacs, Tori Ann Null, Taylor Null, Aubrey Takacs, Raegan Null, and Madalyn Arsenault. The family suggests that memorials be made to First United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 1000, Jal, NM 88252; or to Sacramento Methodist Assembly Building Fund, P.O. Box 8, Sacramento, NM 88347.
