Graveside services are scheduled at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 9, at the Crockett Family Cemetery, west of Hope, New Mexico for Doepp Crockett. Mr. Crockett, 79, died Sunday, February 5, 2006 in Artesia, New Mexico. Rev. Mark Robinson will officiate at the services. Pallbearers will be Doepp Crockett, Cutler Crockett, Jacob Crockett, Randy Letcher, Don Howell, Paul Davis, Bryant Jones, and Tom Giacametto. Visitation at Terpening Son Mortuary will begin at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday. Mr. Crockett was born May 9, 1926 in Carlsbad, N.M.; the son of William Henry Crockett and Emma Lee Wilburn Crockett. He served in the United States Navy during World War II. In December, 1946 he was married to Emma Ruth Posey in El Paso, Texas. A lifelong resident of the Hope area, he was a rancher and member of the Hope United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; by brothers Frank Crockett, Lloyd Crockett, Charles Crockett, Buster Crockett, and J.W. Crockett; and by sisters Eunice Goodbee, Ella Lee Crockett, Emaline Sanders, and Jane Riddle. Survivors include his sons Will Crockett of Artesia and Richie Crockett and wife Becky of Artesia; a daughter Brenda Minow and husband Ben of Montana; a sister Billie Prue Pornell of Winnie, Texas; grandchildren William Cutler Crockett and wife Tayni Artesia, Richard Doepp Crockett and wife Kristy of Artesia, Jacob Crockett of Artesia, Jessie Crockett of Artesia, and Tom Giacametto, Roxey Killens, and Tammy Rissom; and seven great-grandchildren.
