Diana Fear

Services are scheduled at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, October 23, at Hermosa Drive Baptist Church for Diana Fear, 2908 W. Dallas Ave., Artesia, New Mexico. Mrs. Fear, 54, died Sunday, October 19, 2008 at her home. Rev. Gavin Vaughan will officiate at the services with burial at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Dora, N.M. at 4 p.m. Thursday. Pallbearers will be family members and Scott Parrish. Honorary pallbearers will be Dennis Jones, Gary Newton, Billy Rawler, Jason Ellis, Bob Locke, Sherman Memmelar, Tom Hadley, and Stan Fear. Visitation will be at Terpening Son Mortuary beginning at 10 am. Wednesday. Mrs. Fear was born April 3, 1954 in Portales, New Mexico; the daughter of Jimmy Rogers and Peggy Elrod Rogers. On July 18, 1973 she was married to Darrell Fear in Dora, NM. She came to Artesia in June 1981 from Ogden, Utah. She was a 5th Grade School Teacher at Hermosa Elementary School. She was a member of Hermosa Drive Baptist Church and the Delta Kappa Gamma sorority. She was preceded in death by her mother Peggy Peterson in 2004. Survivors include her husband Darrell Fear of the family home; parents Jimmy and Jessie Rogers of Portales, N.M.; sons Daniel Fear and wife Andrea of Farmington, N.M., Shaun Fear of Tucson, Arizona, and Robert Fear of Chandler, Arizona; brothers Charlie Rogers and wife Judy of Ft. Stanton, N.M., Donnie Rogers of Clovis, N.M., Gary Adkins of Portales, and Steven Adkins and wife Laura of Portales; granddaughter Jazzlyn Fear of Farmington; numerous nieces and nephews.
