Destiny Marquez

A funeral service will be held for Destiny Shantel Marquez at 2 pm on Tuesday, September 3, 2024 at Faith Baptist with interment to follow at Woodbine Cemetery.

Destiny Marquez, was born on February 14, 1991, to Michael Salas and Isela Marquez. She passed away surrounded by the love of her family on August 26, 2024 in Artesia, New Mexico.

A long-standing resident of Artesia, Destiny attended Artesia High school. Destiny had a passion for art, which she expressed through her beautiful paintings. She also loved fishing, traveling, and swimming, and was known for being an amazing mom to her children. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her.

Destiny was preceded in death by her father, Michael Salas; her stepfather, David Longoria; her brother, Fabian Casares; and her grandmother, Rosa Salas.

Those left to cherish her memory are her mother, Isela Marquez; Grandmother, Maria Marquez; Sister; Breanna Marquez; Children, Michael Zander Sarabia, Heavenly Gracelynn Sarabia, and Gabriella Rose Duran along with many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Our family would like to extend our gratitude to the compassionate staff at Enhabit Home Health & Hospice. Their exceptional care and unwavering support provided comfort and dignity during Destiny's final days. Their kindness and dedication will always be remembered by our family.
