Dessel Story

Services are scheduled at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 10, at Terpening Son Chapel for Dessel Story of Artesia, New Mexico.

Mrs. Story, 92, died Wednesday, October 5, 2011 at Heartland Nursing Center in Artesia.

Pastor Mike Bingham will officiate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Robby Hager, Mickey Hager, Billy Williams, Jerry McFadden, Efrin Munoz, and Ross Hager.

Visitation will be at Terpening Son Mortuary Sunday beginning at 2 p.m.

Dessel was born July 11, 1919 in Delight, Arkansas the daughter of Fred Pratter Riddle and Samantha Elizabeth Canaster Riddle. She came to Artesia in 1989 from Texas.

On May 29, 1948 she was married to George Robert Story in Vernon, Texas. He preceded her in death November 6, 2006. She was also preceded in death by parents six brothers a sister daughter Judy Dickerson 2 greatgrandsons Samuel Houston Morgan, III, and Noah Anthony Miszkwitz and several nieces and nephews.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ in Carlsbad. Dessel also enjoyed sewing and reading, and cooking.

Survivors include her daughters Sharon Williams and husband Rev. W.J. of Artesia grandchildren Robby and wife Bobbie Hager of Montaque, Texas, Mickey and wife Cindy Hager of Okmulgee, Oklanoma, Billy and wife Tandy Williams of Terrel, Oklahoma, Jerry McFadden of Rendon, Texas, Ronda Morgan of Alvarado, Texas, Kimberly Bhatti of Forrest Hill, Texas, Courtney and Efrin Munoz of Hobbs, N.M., Teresha McFadden of Haltom City, Texas, Walter and wife Elvie Williams, Jr. of Eastland, Texas, Elvie and wife Valerie Williams of Ranger, Texas, Esther and husband Jim Osteen of Carbon, Texas, Angie and husband Eddy Honi of Cisco, Texas, and Rodney and wife Christie Williams of Abilene, Texas 29 greatgrandchildren 8 greatgreatgrandchildren with 2 on the way numerous nieces and nephews.
