Delfina Ochoa

Services are scheduled at 9:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 28, 2011, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church for Delfina N. Ochoa, 810 N. 6th St., Artesia, New Mexico.

Mrs. Ochoa, 84, died Tuesday, January 25, 2011 at her home.

Fr. Paul Murtagh SS.CC. will officiate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandsons. A rosary service is also planned for 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Our Lady of Grace. Visitation at Terpening Son Mortuary will begin at 10:00 a.m. Thursday.

Delfina was born November 2, 1926 in Ojinaga, Chihuahua, Mexico the daughter of Santos Navarrette and Erlinda Cepeda Navarrette.

On Aug. 8, 1943 she was married to Julian P. Ochoa in Ojinaga. She came to Artesia in 1946 from Mexico. He preceded her in death Nov. 12, 2010. She was also preceded in death by her parents, by two brothers, one Sister, two sons and two grandchildren.

She was a homemaker and member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Daughters of Mary, and Apostolado.

Survivors include sons Ludivico Ludi Ochoa of Artesia, Julian Ochoa, Jr. of Albuquerque, N.M., Ruben Ochoa, Guadalupe Ochoa, Hector Ochoa, and Joel Ochoa all of Artesia, and Alfredo Ochoa of Albuquerque daughters Mary Montes of Artesia and Ofelia Perez of Artesia A brother David Navarrette of Ojinaga sisters Margarita Morales of Artesia, Vicky Huerta of Artesia, , Eva of Ojinaga, Linda Leyba of Artesia, and Irene Pando of Ojinaga 31 grandchildren 46 greatgrandchildren and five greatgreatgrandchildren.
