Delfina Gutierrez

Services are scheduled at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, September 8, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church for Delfina Nunez Gutierrez of Artesia, New Mexico.

Mrs. Gutierrez, 80, died Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at Artesia General Hospital Emergency Room.

Fr. Martin Cornejo O.F.M. will officiate at the services with burial at Lake Arthur Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Lazaro Rodriguez, Raymond Ornelas, Juanito Aranda, Guillermo Comacho, JavierAranda, Jose Rodriguez, Nick Ornelas, Jessie Gutierrez, Rigoberto Gutierrez,Manuel Aranda, Michael Barrios, Primotivo Rodriguez, Angel Rodriguez, Valentine Gutierrez, Juan Aguilera, and David Aguilera.

Visitation will be at Terpening & Son Mortuary Monday beginning at 2:00 p.m. A rosary will be at Our Lady of Grace Tuesday at 9:00 a.m.

Delfina was born March 31, 1935 in Hereford, Texas; the daughter of Raymundo Nunez and Anita (Orosco) Nunez.

On June 15, 1955 she was married to Calixtro Gutierrez in Loving, N.M. They came to Artesia in 1958 from Loving. He preceded her in death March 7, 1999. She was also preceded in death by her parents, and a daughter.

Delfina was a homemaker and a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, and Our Lady of Guadalupe in Lake Arthur. She was a Guadalupana, and love to quilt.

Survivors include her daughters Irma Gutierrez of Artesia, Gloria Ornelas of Andrews, Texas, Guadalupe Camacho of Great Bend, Kansas, and Lorenza Aguilera of Artesia; sons Pete Gutierrez of Roswell, N.M., Raul Gutierrez of Artesia, Sammy Gutierrez of Artesia, Joe Gutierrez of Artesia, Calixtro Gutierrez, Jr. of Andrews, and Jessie Gutierrez of Artesia; sister Cindy Romero of Lake Arthur; 38 grandchildren; 105 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
