David Sowders

March 17, 1961 — February 13, 2006

David Ray Sowders, long time resident of Magnet Cove, Arkansas passed away at St. Joseph's Hospital in Hot Springs, Arkansas, on February 13, 2006, after a long illness due to an automobile accident. David was born March 17th, 1961, to Mary and Vernon Sowders in Artesia, New Mexico. His brother, Charles Chuck Donavon Sowders preceded him in death in 1982. He is survived by his parents Mary and Vernon Sowders of Magnet Cove, Arkansas; brother James Michael Sowders of Texas; sister Verna Suzanne Love and children Marc Alan and James David Ham of Magnet Cove, Arkansas; niece Lou Ann Sowders of Marble Fa1ls, Texas; and a nephew, Eric Lee and Della Sowders, and children Hayden and Mia of Corvallis, Montana. Other survivors include Charlene and Jesse McGary and children Steve McGary, Donna Bearden, and Stacy McGary; Roma and Earl Dunn and children Lynn Galloway, Cindy Wotring, and Merri Rhodes; Eddie and Curtis Blevins and children Greg Blevins, Lisa Jackson, and John Blevins; Ellen Madron and children Kim Nejtek and Carolee Madron; Bobbie and Rick Ranspot and children Melissa Cobb and Michael Ranspot; Gary Parrish; Dorothy Nelson and children Doug and Kyle Nelson. David was also preceded in death by his grandparents, Gladys and C.A. Parrish, Alma and Dee Sowders and cousin, John Wesley McGary. David was an avid hunter and fisherman. He also enjoyed riding motorcycles. After the automobile accident, David loved working on his computer, remote control airplanes and was a ham radio operator. Services will be held on February 18, 2006, at the First Presbyterian Church, 402 West Grand Street, at 2:00 P.M. Interment will follow at Twin Oaks Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the Christopher Reeves Foundation. A memorial service will be held in Arkansas at a later date.
