David Jenkins

No local services are scheduled for David Jenkins of Artesia. There will be a private family memorial service at a later date.

Mr. Jenkins, 72, died Sunday, July 19, 2015 at San Pedro Nursing Center in Artesia, New Mexico.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of Terpening and Son Mortuary.

David was born August 11, 1942 in Wasco, California; the son of Floyd Jenkins and Mary (Honea) Jenkins. He came to Artesia on May 1, 2015 from Claremore, OK.

On November 17, 1968 he was married to Ruth Jones in Wasco, CA.

He was a Testing Supervisor in the Oil and Gas Industry, an avid reader, he loved meteorology, loved history and archeology and traveling. David's favorite place to visit was Yellowstone National Park and his family celebrated his life there after his death.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a son John Michael Jenkins.

Survivors include his wife Ruth Jenkins of Artesia; sons James David Jenkins of Arroyo Grande, CA and Dennis Jenkins of Porterville, CA; daughters Becky Marie of Porterville, CA, Vickie Lynn Tovar of Bakersfield, CA and Holly Sheobhan Ayoola of Artesia; brothers Donald Jenkins of Bakersfield, CA and Dean Jenkins of Bakersfield, CA; 13 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
