Services are scheduled at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 29, at First Baptist Church for David Hooten, Artesia, New Mexico.
Mr. Hooten, 49, died Sunday, January 25, 2015 in Artesia.
Pastor Rick Sullivan will officiate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Blake Klontz, Dave Hooten, Robert Hooten, Billy Joe Hooten, Jaime Huitron, Jeff Beauregard, Wesley Kelsey, Roger Barber, and David Sherman. Honorary pallbearers will be all of his beloved friends.
Visitation will be at Terpening & Son Mortuary beginning at 10 a.m. Wednesday.
David was born June 21, 1965 in Artesia, New Mexico; the son of Paul Lavern Hooten and Margaret Aileen (Lattion) Hooten. He was a lifelong resident of Artesia.
On Dec. 15, 1984 he was married to Jacque Stevenson in Artesia.
He was an assistant production foreman for S.M. Energy. He attended Westside Church of Christ, was a member of the Moose Lodge and Artesia Quarterback Club. He loved his Harley, enjoyed welding and loved his family very much.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
Survivors include his wife Jacque Hooten of Artesia; mother-in-law Mary Lou Stevenson of Artesia; son Dave Hooten of Artesia; daughter Paige Klontz and husband Blake of Artesia; sister Judy McNeil of Artesia; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and many beloved friends.
