David Harper

A time of sharing and fellowship is scheduled from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. Friday, August 28, at Faith Baptist Church in the Saints Alive Room for David Wiley Harper of Lake Arthur, New Mexico.

Mr. Harper, 68, died Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at Artesia General Hospital Emergency Room.

Cremation is under direction of Terpening & Son Mortuary.

David was born May 7, 1947 in Okmulgee, Oklahoma; the son of Buford W. Harper and Betty (Morton) Harper. He was a longtime Artesia area resident.

He served his country in the United States Army Reserves during the Vietnam War.

In May of 1970 he was married to Marion Fox in Oklahoma. She preceded him in death February 28, 2006. He was also preceded in death by his parents, a brother, a sister, and a daughter.

David was a Service Manager at Guy Chevrolet for many years. He collected coins, enjoyed playing Legos with Melissa, and was a Sunkist enthusiast.

Survivors include his granddaughters Haley Harper of Lake Arthur, and Melanie Harper of Lake Arthur; grandson Noah Painter of Oklahoma; great-grandchildren Duke Harper-Cotham and Melissa Schulz.
