Services are scheduled at 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 10, at West Main Baptist Church, Artesia, N.M., for David Lawrence Duran, 1014 Florida, Hope, New Mexico.
Mr. Duran, 23, died Monday, June 3, 2013.
Ricky The Rocket Ellis will officiate at the services with burial at Hagerman Cemetery, Hagerman N.M. Pallbearers will be Chris Hatfield, Daniel Smith, Tyler Dunahoo, Anthony Havens, Kendal Hendrix, Nate Harvey, Eric Aranda, and Jonathan Munoz. Honorary pallbearers will be Stormy Molina, Zeke Reza, The Rocket Boys Casey and Gene Munoz, all employees of Wilbanks Trucking and Sweatt Construction.
Visitation will be at Terpening Son Mortuary beginning at 2 p.m. Sunday.
Dakota was born January 16, 1990 in Albuquerque, New Mexico the son of Johnny Duran and Reeni Samora Duran. He was a lifelong area resident.
He was a swamper for Wilbanks Trucking. He was the Homecoming King at Hagerman High School in 2008, loved to rodeo and the outdoor life, loved kids and animals, never met a stranger, had a contagious smile and was loved by everyone.
Dakota was preceded in death by his grandfather Johnny Duran aunt Judy Cheryl Myers Huffmon grandmother Dorothy Lee Barraza cousin Cynthia Huffmon grandfather David Samora greatgrandparents Daniel and Ester Duran and uncles Sam, Bernie, Israel and Ismael Duran.
Survivors include mother Reeni Duran of Artesia father Johnny Duran of Hagerman fianc Amanda Lyles of Hope son Travis Stuart of Hope grandmother Rachel Samora of Albuquerque numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many, many friends.
