Services are scheduled at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 16, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church for David Lujan Dominguez of Artesia, New Mexico.
Mr. Dominguez, 89, died Thursday, December 11, 2014 at Mission Arch Care Center in Roswell, New Mexico.
Fr. Martin Cornejo O.F.M. will officiate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Joshua Chavez, Michael Acosta, Moses Orosco, Javier Dominguez, Joe Duran, and Christopher Dominguez.
Visitation will be at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church Monday beginning at 4:00 p.m. A rosary will be at Our Lady of Grace Monday at 6:30 p.m.
David was born August 22, 1925 in Redford, Texas the son of Elonecio Dominguez and Manuela Lujan Dominguez.
He served his country in the United States Navy during World War II. After his military duty was completed he moved to Artesia in December of 1945 from Texas.
In 1946 he was married to Paula Ramirez in Artesia. She preceded him in death October 11, 2007. He was also preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
David worked as a Lumber Grader for many years and was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. He enjoyed spending time with his family and was an avid outdoorsman including deer hunting and fishing.
Survivors include his daughters Dora Duran of Los Lunas, N.M., Rosa Oropesa and husband Toribio of Roswell, Malia Dominguez of Long Beach, California, and Estella Acosta and husband Joe of San Antonio, Texas son Jaime Dominguez and wife Anna of Artesia 12 grandchildren 23 greatgrandchildren 20 greatgreatgrandchildren brother Arnulfo Dominguez of Las Cruces, N.M. and sisters Celia Guzman of Artesia, Armida Dominguez of Las Cruces, Alicia Shivers of Roswell, Margie Valenzuela of Roswell, and Nellie Alvarez of Los Lunas.
