Memorial services are scheduled at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 13, at First Baptist Church for Darryl Ray Bollema, 2511 W. Richey, Artesia, New Mexico. Mr. Bollema, 43, died Thursday, May 8, 2008 at his home. Rev. Rick Sullivan will officiate at the services. Burial will take place at 9:00 a.m. Tuesday at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Harold Bollema, Jake Van Vliet, Dave Van Vliet, Jim Van Vliet, Don Van Vliet, Joey Van Vliet, Larry Grantham, and Arie Breedyk. Honorary pallbearers will be Tom Visser, Andy Bollema, Jim Bush, Jack Tuls, Bernie Mutter, Floyd Johnson, Adrian Breedyk, Mitch Visser, Jack Van Der Veen, and Jason Caldwell. Visitation will be at Terpening Son Mortuary beginning at 10 a.m. Monday. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at the mortuary. Mr. Bollema was born May 21, 1964 in Corona, California; the son of Jacob Bollema and Laura Mae Struikmans Bollema. On August 26, 1983 he was married to Colleen Van Vliet in Escalon, Calif. They came to Artesia in 1991 from Ontario, Calif. He was a Dairyman and owned and operated Enchantment Dairy. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Select Dairy Producers, and D.B.S. Commodities. He was preceded in death by his father, Jacob Bollema of March 14, 1983. Survivors include his wife Colleen Bolema of the family home; mother Laura Mae Bollema of Palm Springs, Calif.; sons Blake Jacob Bollema of Artesia, and Dallas Ray Bollema of Artesia; daughters Shanna Marie Moran and husband Luke of Roswell, N.M., and Cheyenne LaRae Bollema of Artesia; brother Harold Jay Bollema and wife Jackie of Ontario, Calif.; sister Sheila Gay Bloesel of Corona, Calif.; granddaughter Jolene Cherie Bollema of Artesia; numerous nieces and nephews; and five brothers-in-law and five sisters-in-law. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the First Baptist Church Youth Ministries.
