Darrell Wayne Billington was born August 16, 1963 in Hobbs, NM to Larry and Myrna Billington. He spent his younger years in Tahoka, Tx with his mother and siblings. He later moved to Hobbs, NM and lived several years, until they Moved to Lake JB Thomas and he graduated from Gail High School. After graduating he came to Artesia and got his CDL. He then started working for Jim's Water Service where he met the love of his life Tamarah Stoneman. They were married in April 1991. They had four children together, but helped raise many more that they loved as their own.
When he wasn't working he enjoyed hunting with his boys, cooking, wood working, and cruising on his Harley with his Scrappy T. He also loved spending time with his grandkids and hauling his kids to rodeos.
He never met a stranger and was always willing to lend a helping hand. You could always count on him to be there.
He is survived by his wife Tamarah Billington. Sons Blu Stoneman, Sam Stoneman and wife Brandi, and Daniel Salcido. Daughter Roper Cates. Grandkids, Bitleigh Cates, Kynzlee Stoneman, Kyson Stoneman, Jayden Molina, Jordan Molina, and Jasmin Molina. Great grandson Asher Molina. Step Mother Kathy Billington and Aunt Gwen Kelly. Sisters Katrina Hooten, Cheryl Hall, and Teri Billington and wife Jennifer. Brothers Gary Billington and wife Cindy, and Dennis Billington and wife Linda.
Sister in laws Casey Malone and husband Sammy and Sammie Shipley and Husband George. Brother in law Glenn Stoneman.
He is proceeded in death by his father Larry Billington and mother Myrna Billington. Grandparents JP and Geraldean Morgan and Dink and Mattie Billington. Brother in laws Steve Hall, Bill Hooten and Stoney Stoneman. And numerous aunts and uncles.
He will be laid to rest by graveside services on Friday September 17 at 2 p.m. at Woodbine Cemetery. A viewing will be held Thursday September 16 from 1-6 p.m..
Pallbearers will be Blu Stoneman, Sam Stoneman, Gary Billington, Dennis Billington, Nathan Garrison, and Aaron Garrison. Honorary pallbearers will be all of his friends.
