Daniel Harvey

Services are scheduled at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 25, at Calvary Baptist Church for Daniel Martin Harvey, 1308 W. Bush Ave., Artesia, New Mexico.

Mr. Harvey, 88, died Thursday, June 23, 2011 at Artesia General Hospital.

Rev. Rick Smith will officiate at the services with burial at Twin Oaks Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Jimbo Smith, Ken Clayton, Tim Houghtaling, Steve DeMerritt, Kent Bratcher, and Donnie Pounds. Honorary pallbearers will be grandchildren, greatgrandchildren and all former andpresent A.H.S. Bowlers. Visitation will be at Terpening Son Mortuary beginning at 10 a.m. Friday.

Daniel was born February 14, 1923 in Turtle Creek, Pennsylvania the son of Martin Harvey and Alice Hall Harvey. He came to Artesia in 1946 from Pennsylvania.

On August 31, 1955 he was married to Winnie Phillips in Artesia.

He served in the United States Air Force during World War II.

He was a maintenance foreman at AMAX Potash. He retired in 1984. He was a member of Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, U.S.B.C. Bowling and an avid bowler, and a honorary member of the A.H.S. Bowling Team.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Lois, Blanche and LaVerne, and a grandson D. RobertMartin Harvey.

Survivors include wife Winnie Harvey of the family home sons Daniel B. Harvey and wife Diana of Artesia, and Timothy Harvey and wife Holly of Artesia grandchildren Stacy Harvey of Lubbock, Texas, Nathan Harvey and wife LyKala of Artesia, Brenden Harvey of Artesia, Casey Harvey of Artesia, and Vanessa Harvey of Artesia greatgrandchildren Austin Harvey, Jakob J.D. Harvey and Kaylan Wood.
