Daisy Bass

Services are scheduled at 9:30 A.M. Saturday, October 5 at Terpening Son Mortuary in Artesia, N.M. for Daisy Bell Lewis Bass of Hope, New Mexico. Mrs. Bass, 102, died Tuesday, October 1, 2002 in Artesia. Evangelist J. T. Ross will officiate at the services with burial at Upper Hope Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Dennis Berry, Rob Bullock, Jimmy Bullock, Loda Kimmons, R. N. Teel and Sam Teel. Daisy was born October 29, 1899 to T. A. Lewis and Mattie Lamastas Lewis. On August 4, 1919 she was married to Virgil M. Bass in Roswell, N.M. Her husband preceded her in death July 29, 1973. She was also preceded in death by her parents; by two sons; and by several brothers and sisters. Mrs. Bass, a lifelong resident of the Hope and Artesia areas, was a homemaker and member of the Hope Church of Christ. Survivors include close friend Meghan The Baby Mellard of Hope; and numerous nieces and nephews including a grand-nephew Dennis Berry.
