D. Harvey

Services are scheduled at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 29, at First Baptist Church, 2201 Broadway, Lubbock, Texas for former Artesia resident D. Robert-Martin Harvey of Lubbock, Texas.

Mr. Harvey, 29, died Sunday, April 26, 2009 in Lubbock.

Rev. Mike Martindale will officiate at the services with burial at Resthaven Cemetery in Lubbock. Pallbearers will be the Lubbock County Sheriff's Office Tactical Team. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Patrol Division Night Shift of the Lubbock County Sheriff's Office. The family will be receiving friends and relatives from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, April 28, at Calvillo Funeral Home Chapel, 216 E. 19th St., Lubbock.

A Celebration of Life memorial service is also planned for 3:00 p.m. Saturday at Faith Baptist Church in Artesia.

D. Robert was born October 7, 1979 in Artesia; the son of Daniel and Diana Harvey. He was a 1998 graduate of Artesia High School and was a past member of the Atoka NM Volunteer Fire Department.

He married Stacy Grantham on August 7, 1998 in Artesia. They moved to Lubbock in 1999 and he joined the Lubbock County Sheriff's Office on his birthday in 2001. He was a member of the Texas Tactical Peace Officers Association and was an instructor for the tactical team. He loved children and loved to volunteer his time as a little league coach and at Whiteside Elementary School.

Survivors include his wife, Stacy Harvey, and his sons, Austin Tyler Harvey and Jakob Dean Harvey all of the family home; parents, Danny and Diana Harvey of Artesia; brothers, Nathaniel Harvey and Brenden Harvey both of Artesia; paternal grandparents, Dan and Winnie Harvey of Artesia; maternal grandparents, Robert and Irene Ellis of Artesia; father and mother-in-law, Wayne and Debra Grantham of Artesia; brother-in-law, Michael Grantham of Artesia; sister-in-law and her husband, Tammy and Josh Garrett of Lubbock; nephews, Derik Grantham of Artesia and Kaleb Garrett of Lubbock; a niece, Kaylan Harvey of Artesia; and a host of aunts uncles and cousins.
