Cynthia Oakes

Services are scheduled at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, June 14, at Terpening Son Chapel for Cynthia Oakes of Artesia. Mrs. Oakes, 57, died Friday, June 10, 2005 at Artesia General Hospital. Rev. Terry Aiello will officiate at the services with burial at Twin Oaks Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be family members. Mrs. Oakes was born November 5, 1947 in Artesia, New Mexico; the daughter of Clarence Key and Grace Adair Key. She was a livelong resident of the Artesia area and worked as an office manager for KSVP Radio station. Mrs. Oakes was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include her daughter Charla Sanders and husband Danny of Ft. Walton Beach, Florida; son Chad Oakes and wife Shelly of Southern California; sister Penny Thigpen of Artesia, N.M.; and nieces Lyn Harrison of Artesia, Kim Klein of Dexter, N.M., and Dawn Thigpen of Roswell, N.M.
