Curtis Teel

Services are scheduled for 10 am Thursday, December 15 at Faith Baptist Church for Curtis R. Teel of Artesia, New Mexico.

Mr. Teel, 91, died on Wednesday, December 7, 2022 in Artesia.

Michael Elliot will officiate at the services with burial to follow at Woodbine Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Mr. Teel's grandsons.

Curtis was born on April 16, 1931 in Mayhill, New Mexico; the son of Houston Teel and Lela Miller Teel. He was a longtime resident of Artesia. On March 31, 1988 he was married to Kaye Hainley Aton in Artesia.

Curtis worked as a mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service for 42 years. He served in the Army National Guard for 29 years. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church, the NRA and the NALC.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Faye Briggs and Dorothy Parrish, and by brothers Robert Teel and David Teel.

Survivors include his wife Kaye Teel; sons Michael D. Teel and wife DeAnna, and Randy Teel and wife Arleen; daughter Lori Teel; step-son Michael Aton and wife Mary; step-daughter Karen Aton; grandchildren Dustin Teel, J. Michael Teel and wife Ashley, Jacob Teel and Tasia, Andrew Teel and wife Stephanie, Tomas Teel, Kyle Aton and Dodie, Craig Aton and wife Dani, Tyleen Myers, Tara L. Dunn and husband Mike, Kailee Teel, Tara A. Martinez and husband Stevan, and Amanda Mott and husband Scott; also by 16 great-grandchildren.
