Memorial services are scheduled at 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 16, at First Baptist Church for Curtis Bolton, 2903 N. Washington Ave., Roswell, New Mexico. PMr. Bolton, 84, died Thursday, June 12, 2008 at Sunset Villa Care Center in Roswell. PRev. Rick Sullivan will officiate at the services. Cremation is under the direction of Terpening amp; Son Mortuary. No visitation is planned. PMr. Bolton was born July 20, 1923 in Pineville, Kentucky; the son of Vernon Bolton and Minnie Elliott Bolton. He came to Artesia from Kentucky in 1928. PIn 1942, he was married to Bettynelle Lanning in Artesia. PHe served in the United States Army Air Corp during World War II where his main duties involved repairing B-24 bombers. PCurtis and Bettynelle moved to Ruidoso, N.M. in 1987. He was a farmer and oil jobber and was a member of First Christian Church in Ruidoso.
Survivors include his wife Bettynelle Bolton of the family home; a son Vern Bolton and wife Lori of Roswell; a brother G.W. Bill Bolton and wife Betty Ann of Lubbock, Texas; brother-in-law Johnny Lanning and wife Cassie of Artesia; and grandchildren Rita Irwin, Amanda Irwin, and Billy Irwin.
