Cuca Torres

A beautiful person has left this earth today September 29, 2006, Cuquita Torres also known as Cuca M. Torres. She was born in Carlsbad but lived in Artesia all of her life. Cuquita was a loving and devoted wife and mother. She lost her mother at the age of eight and became mother to her three younger sisters. She held herself strong for her sisters and continued being the strength for her own husband and their three children. She loved fixing hair- dos for the elderly ladies in her community that could not afford to go to the beauty shop. She never turned one down. She was a prayer soldier for many. PShe was preceded in death by her husband John and son Bobby. She is survived by her daughter, Frankie T. Hemby, son-in-law Wayne of Artesia, son Johnny M. Torres, daughter-in-law Lupe of Burlingame, CA. She was blessed with one grandson Jonathan Torres, his wife Emmy and two beautiful great-grandchildren Gabriella and Melina of Boyds, Maryland. Her sisters, Lillian Torres of Albuquerque, Sophie Navarette of Lompoc, CA, Angie Dorado of Hayward, CA, Elsie Gomez of Hagerman, NM, Flavia Cota of Albuquerque, Connie Blankenship of Farmington, and Fina Molinar of Albuquerque, New Mexico. She was a long time member of Saint Anthony Catholic Church. PServices will be conducted at St. Anthony's Catholic Church Tuesday, October 3rd at 9:30 a.m. with burial at Twin Oaks Memorial Park. A vigil service will be Monday at 7:00 p.m. at St. Anthonys Church. Visitation will begin Monday at Terpening amp; Son Mortuary at 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Pall- bearers will be Terry Gomez, Freddy Cota, David Torres, Jonathan Torres, Johnny Torres, and John Draper.
