Cruz Mendoza

Services are scheduled at 9:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 24, at Our Lady of Grace Church for Cruz Amalia Mendoza of Artesia.

Mrs. Mendoza, 73, died Thursday, November 20, 2014 at Eastern NM Medical Center in Roswell, New Mexico.

Fr. Martin Cornejo will officiate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her family members. A Rosary will be held on Sunday at 6:30 p.m. at the church.

Cruz was born May 3, 1941 in Tres Lagunas, Chihuahua, Mexico the daughter of Elefonso Majalco and Maria Luiza Gardea Majalco. She came to Artesia in 1983 from Nebraska.

On February 17, 1955 she was married to Felipe M. Mendoza in Mexico. He preceded her in death on 1042013.

She was a housewife and a member of Our Lady of Grace.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Tobias Mendoza.

Survivors include her sons Cayetano Mendoza of Artesia, Martin Mendoza of Amarillo, TX and Lorenzo Mendoza of Houston, TX daughters Josefina Mitre of Artesia, Flora Mendoza of Roswell, Lourdes Armendariz of Artesia, Magdalena Mendoza of Artesia and Alva Austin of Amarillo, TX brother Socorro Gardea of Mexico 15 grandchildren and 8 greatgrandchildren.
