Cristina Rodriguez

Services are scheduled at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, October 30, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church for Cristina Rodriguez of Hobbs, New Mexico. Mrs. Rodriguez, 88, died Monday, October 27, 2008 at her home. Fr. Brian Guerrini, SS.CC. will officiate at the services with burial at Twin Oaks Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Richard Perez, Albert Perez, Jr., Secundino Perez, Aaron Saenz, Raul Rodriguez, and Freddie Martinez. Visitation will be at Terpening Son Mortuary beginning at 10 a.m. Wednesday. A rosary will be at Our Lady of Grace Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. Mrs. Rodriguez was born July 24, 1920 in Presidio, Texas; the daughter of Luis Velasco and Crispina Bustamonte Velasco. On November 1, 1952 she was married to Fermin Rodriguez in Artesia, N.M. She was a longtime resident of Artesia before moving to Hobbs in 1983. He preceded her in death May 12, 1983. She was also preceded in death by eleven brothers and sisters. Cristina was a homemaker, a member of St. Helena Catholic Church in Hobbs, and a former member of Our Lady of Grace. Survivors include her daughters Soaky Perez and husband Alberto of Las Cruces, N.M., Lucy Torrez of Hobbs, and Trini Grado and husband Raul of Hobbs; son Efrain Rodriguez of Hobbs; brother Alfonso Velasco of Odessa, Texas; 7 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren.
