Cristal Gamboa

Cristal Coss Gamboa passed away at the Hospitals of Providence-East Campus in El Paso, TX, on October 1, 2024, at the age of 30. She was born in Artesia, NM, on October 28, 1993, to Damian and Reyna Coss.

Cristal was a dedicated wife and a proud mom, who was determined to create lasting memories with her young family, despite understanding that her time on earth was winding down. She was a loving daughter, a beautiful sister, and was the anchor of her friend group. She was tough with a quiet strength that carried her through extraordinary circumstances. Through the highs and the lows, she lived a life rooted in love of family and her faith in God. She will forever be missed.

Cristal was a life-long resident of Artesia and is survived by her parents; her husband, Michael Gamboa; their children, Carter and Julian; her sister, Tori Coss; her brother, Adrian Coss; and her nephews, Alexander and Phillip.

Cristal has joined her paternal grandparents, Ramon Coss Ortega and Soledad Garcia Meraz; her maternal grandparents, Rodolfo Trevizo Herrera and Josefina Herrera Gonzalez; her mother-in-law, Cecilia Ramirez; and her grandpa, Trinidad Gamboa, in Heaven.

A viewing will be held on Wednesday, October 9, 2024, from 2:00 to 6:00 pm at the Terpening & Son chapel. The rosary will be at 9:30 am on Thursday, October 10, 2024, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, with the funeral service to follow at 10:00 am. Pallbearers will be her brother, her brothers-in-law (Daniel and Matthew Gamboa), her best friends (Esperanza Tarango, Letishia Rivera, Kayla Lucero, Rosa Munoz), and Adrian Morillon. The honorary pallbearers (carrying for their partners) will be Ever Tarango, Miguel Chavez, Daniel Lucero, and Donovan Garcia. Internment will be at Woodbine Cemetery.
