Cosme Gomez

A celebration of life is scheduled at 10:00 am Saturday, October 20, 2018 at West Main Baptist Church for Cosme M. Gomez, of Artesia, New Mexico. Mr. Gomez, 88 was called home on Monday, October 15, 2018. He passed away at Midland Memorial Hospital in Midland, TX. A heartfelt thanks to the 8th floor Ortho nursing staff and Hospice of Midland for the care and compassion given to our dad.

Pastor Abelardo Bolanos will officiate with burial at Twin Oaks Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Mark Gomez, Chris Gomez, Dion Gomez, Albert Cervantez, Mike Granado, Johnny Saiz, Gilbert Romo and Adrian Romo.

Visitation will be at Terpening and Son Mortuary beginning at 12:00 pm Friday.

Cosme was born on September 27, 1930 in Artesia, New Mexico, the son of Hilardio Gomez and Anita Montoya Gomez. On June 29, 1960, he married Faye Gonzales Gomez in a little white chapel in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was an electrician for most of his life and was the best handy-man to have around. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and cooking outdoors. Cosme was preceded in death by his wife Faye Gomez, his parents, two brothers and five sisters.

Survivors include his son Mark Gomez of Artesia, daughter Tina Romo and husband Adrian of Midland, TX, daughter-in-law Shannon Gomez of Artesia, Grandchildren Christopher Gomez and Shaniece Fuentes of Artesia, Dion Gomez of Artesia, Adrianna Romo and Nikki Romo and three great grandchildren Kayson Rayne Gomez, Aviana Faye Gome and Zoel Aguirre.

Cosme lived a life well lived. When we start to miss him just remember he has gone fishing in heaven's fishing hole.
