Services are scheduled at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 10, at First Baptist Church for Corine Norris, 1001 N. 1st St., Artesia, New Mexico. Mrs. Norris, 74, died Sunday, February 4, 2007 at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas. Rev. Rick Sullivan will officiate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Howard Williams, Jr., Derrick Williams, Adam Colter, Levi Jones, Howard Williams, Sr., and Wilburn Mitchell. Mrs. Norris was born February 25, 1932 in Crockett, Texas; the daughter of Thomas Colter, Sr. and Eunice Hawkins Colter. In 1951 she was married to Johnny Norris in Artesia. She came to Artesia in 1948 from Crockett, Texas. She was a housewife and member of Jehovahs Witnesses. She was preceded in death by her parents; son Luther Colclough; brothers Carl Blackishure, and V.L. Colter; and sister Helen Corine Colter. Survivors include her husband Johnny Norris of Artesia; sons Frank Porter of Artesia, M.C. Wilder of Artesia, and Bobby Lee Wilder of Artesia; daughter Mae Mitchell of Ft. Worth, Texas; brothers Thomas Colter, Jr. of Casa Grande, Arizona, Earnell Colter of Reno, Nevada, Raymond Colter of Artesia, Levi Colter of Artesia, and Roman Colter of Bakersfield, California; sister Jessie Hillis of Casa Grande; 12 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
