Consuelo Lopez

Services are scheduled at 9:30 a.m. Monday, October 20, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church for Consuelo A. Lopez of Artesia, New Mexico.

Mrs. Lopez, 94, died Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at Mission Arch Care Center in Roswell, New Mexico.

Fr. Joe Pacquing will officiate at the services with burial at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Richard Gutierrez, Iyona G. Ramirez, Janessa Galindo, Dominic Moreno, DemetriusMoreno, and Sara Dameron.

Visitation will be at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church Sunday beginning at 2:00 p.m. A rosary will be at Our Lady of Grace Sunday at 6:30 p.m.

Connie was born August 24, 1920 in Marfa, Texas the daughter of Jose H. Alvarado and Bonifica Garcia Alvarado. She was a longtime Artesia resident.

On August 29, 1947 she was married to Alfredo C. Lopez in Artesia. He preceded her in death May 5, 2014. She was also preceded in death by her parents and a sister Herminia A. Lopez.

Connie was a homemaker and an active member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. She was a Christian Mother, 3rd Order of St. Francis, an eucharistic minister, a choir member, and a Crucillista.

Survivors include her daughtes Betty Lopez of Artesia, and Delma L. Moreno and husband Manuel of Artesia brothers Ismael Alvarado of Artesia, and Joe Alvarado of Artesia grandchildren Richard A. Gutierrez, Jr., Iyona Ramirez, Adrian Gutierrez, Sara Dameron, Dominic Moreno, and Demetrius Moreno 10 greatgrandchildren and 11 greatgreatgrandchildren.
