A memorial service is scheduled for 10 am Saturday, March 5, at the Artesia Elks Lodge for Clyde Randolph "Dolph" Jones of Artesia, New Mexico.
Dolph, 86, died on February 25, 2022 at his home in Artesia.
The cremation has taken place under the direction of Terpening & Son Mortuary.
Dolph was born on August 10, 1935 in Hope, New Mexico; the son of Henry B. Jones and Lola Shields Jones.
He married Dora Ann Bunce on December 25, 1954 in Hope, NM.
He was honorably discharged from the NM National Guard, owner operator of the City Garage of Hope for 36 years and managed the hardware division of the Artesia Alfalfa Growers Association for 19 years.
He served as Mayor for 25 years and Fire Chief for 25+ Years of Hope, NM.
He was a life time member of the New Mexico State Fire Fighters Association and the Artesia Elks lodge 1717.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son Tommy, sister Zona and brother Ray.
Survivors include his wife Dora Ann Jones, sons Clyde and wife Paula, Cory and wife Cyndi, daughter-in-law Debbie; 6 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, sister Melissa, brothers Floyd and Robert.
