Graveside services are scheduled at 10:00 a.m. Monday, November 12, atWoodbine Cemetery for Clyde N. Hemby of Artesia, New Mexico. Mr. Hemby, 81, died Wednesday, November 7, 2007 at Artesia General Hospital. Rev. J. B. Craft will officiate at the services. Honorary pallbearers will be James E. Wallace, Eddie Guy, Steve Willard, Johnny Gonzales, Jack Hemby, Melvin Odell, Wayne Derrick, and Bob Barnett. Visitation will be at Terpening Son Mortuary beginning at 5 p.m. Sunday. Mr. Hemby was born January 21, 1926 in Crosbyton, Texas; the son of Charles H. Hemby and Clara Wallace Hemby. He came to Artesia in 1939 from Texas. On Dec. 8, 1952 he was married to Katherine Odell in Artesia. He served in the United States Army during World War II. He was Owner and Operator of Clyde's Auto Sales, and he also did painting and texturing. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and the V.F.W. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife Katherine Hemby of the family home; sons Wayne Hemby and wife Frankie of Artesia, and Gary Hemby of Aurora, Colorado; daughters Carolyn Belyeu of Brenham, Texas, Glenda MacGregor of Midland, Texas, and Pamela Marston of Lubbock, Texas; a brother Jack Hemby of Artesia; a sister Billie Arnold of Artesia; and several grandchildren.
