Claro Flores

Services are scheduled at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, December 9, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church for Claro Flores of Artesia, New Mexico. PMr. Flores, 94, died Thursday, December 7, 2006 at the Artesia Good Samaritan Center. PFr. Paul Murtagh SS.CC. will officiate at the services with burial at Twin Oaks Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Jerry Flores, Johnny Flores, Joseph Flores, Jeremia Flores, Louis Arciniega, and George Salas. PA prayer service will be at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church Friday at 5:00 p.m. PMr. Flores was born August 12, 1912 in Sierra Mojada, Mexico; the son of Carlos Martinez Flores and Jovita Martinez Flores. POn Aug. 26, 1941 he was married to Edwarda Garcia in Marfa, Texas. He came to Artesia in the 1940's. PHe was a trackman for Sante Fe Railroad and member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. PHe was preceded in death by his parents and a son Jessie Flores.
Survivors include his wife Edwarda Flores of the family home; sons Johnny Flores and wife Lily of Artesia, Adolfo Flores and wife Sally of Roswell, N.M., Martin Flores and wife Roseanna of Hobbs, N.M., Joe Flores and wife Angie of Hobbs, Felix Flores of Artesia, and Carlos Flores of Plain View, Texas; daughters Cruz Barriga and husband Hector of Tatum, N.M., and Lolly Salas and husband George of Hagerman, N.M.; sister Juilia Lopez of Ft. Stockton, Texas; brother Martin Flores of Los Angeles, California; 26 grandchildren; and 48 great-grandchildren.
