Clarence Pearson

Graveside services are scheduled at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, February 2, at Twin Oaks Memorial Park for Clarence Melvin Pearson, 37 E. Jackson Rd., Lake Arthur, New Mexico. Mr. Pearson, 77, died Monday, January 31, 2005 at Artesia General Hospital in Artesia, New Mexico. Michael Joiner and J.T. Ross will officiate at the services. Honorary pallbearers will be John P. Nelson, Preston Means, Norman Prude, Steve Spence, Robert Hnulik, and Dennis Tidwell. No visitation is scheduled. Mr. Pearson was born July 25, 1927 in Cottonwood, New Mexico; the son of Clarence M. Pearson and Esther T. Nelson Pearson. On July 18, 1952 he was married to Joe Ann Goodson in Artesia. He was a lifelong area resident. He was a farmer and rancher and member of Hermosa Drive Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters May Pearson and Alma Lynn McCullough, and a son Melvin Lee Pearson. Survivors include his wife Joe Ann Pearson of the family home; sons Don Mark Pearson of Lake Arthur, Gary Allen Pearson and wife Kim of Lakewood, Colorado, Roger Guinn Pearson and wife Kaprice of Dumas, Texas, and Barry Neil Pearson of Lake Arthur; sister Alma Ingram and husband Roy of Artesia; grandchildren Chris Pearson and wife Dee Anne of Artesia, Brandon Pearson and wife Kristie of Roanoke, Virginia, Megan Pearson of Dumas, and Austin Pearson of Lakewood; two great-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hermosa Drive Church of Christ or N.M. Christian Childrens Home 1356 NM Hwy 236 Portales,NM 88130-9411.
